Editorial Reviews:

A film by Jamie Christensen Johnston

On August 29, 2005, Hurricane Katrina swept through the Gulf Coast, destroying everything in its path.

The outcome of Katrina was devastating to the Coast, with over 230,000 homes either destroyed or damaged and most businesses washed away.

The problem for the people of the Coast was heightened by the fact that the national media focus was completely centered on New Orleans, which was devastated, not by the force of the hurricane, but by the man-made problem of the levees failing.

Because of this lack of media awareness, the people of Mississippi and Alabama have been forced to take control of their own recovery efforts with somewhat surprising results.

Due to Katrina making the Coast a clean slate, economic development is at an all time high and the Coast is booming, but what is the cost to the people and culture of this once quiet riviera?

This film explores the conflicts and triumphs of rebuilding a society along the Forgotten Coast.
