Comment: Strange concept -- This is basically a chick flick, with the usual lonely guy meets lonely gal, they work through colossal problems, and finally end up at their blissful wedding. The problem here is that this "chick flick" is loaded with raunchy language and sexual situations, and a LOT of bare female breasts. Not appealing to the average woman. And the mooney-eyed love story theme will not likely appeal to those guys looking for a steamy film. So . . . this effort is left searching for its audience, whatever that might be. I am tossing in a few stars for the comedic content. There was some laugh out loud funny stuff. I can't say that this was a waste of time. Once I got situated in it, I enjoyed much of it. Not an awards candidate, but funny and somewhat clever. It's just a strange mix. Comment: 'Good Luck Chuck' got so much bad press I thought I would hate this movie, but it's not 'THAAAAT' bad...... around 2 1/2 stars....I had to give it 3 stars on the ratings board to even things out a bit. I like Dane Cook, but he has not proven himself as an actor yet. The cast is OK with lots of nude chicks, but it doesn't really pick up any steam until they get through all the usual sex jokes and start getting down to the love story which is all too brief and not all that satisfying. Allow me to clarify my last statement as I have raised a few eyebrows with it. I'm a guy, I like to look at nude chicks, but at some point in this film it became ridiculous and it was time to move on......maybe I just wanted to see Jessica Alba nude? :-D I've seen much worse, but I've seen much better. The DVD transfer is good and if you've seen everything else at the rental store, you might give this a look. Customer Rating: Summary: Can I give it less than one star??? Comment: I guess I can give it at least one star. There were a couple of humorous parts but for the most part this moved sucked badly. The plot was really awful and the way they went about the movie was distasteful. I'm really annoyed that I spent money to rent this. Comment: This film is simply... the antithesis to what we consider a great film. When you start seeing, you want to turn it off because you can not believe the raunchiness of it all, and soon, you start laughing at some of the situations and continue to watch in the hopes that it gets better... and sometimes it does, and sometimes it is so bad that you continue to laugh asking ourselves... Where in the name of heaves did this plot come from? The main actor, Dane Cook, plays Charlie "Chuck" Logan, a kid that we see as the movie starts playing a game, where a friend places a curse on him, that he shall never find true love and that all women that have a relationship with him, will find true love when they leave him. The word gets out and soon, every woman in the world is at his door because once they date him, they will find the man of their dreams. Most men would kill for this to happen, but Charlie has met Cam Wexler, played by Jessica Alba, and he is in love. When they are about to become serious, he realizes that once she is with him, she will leave him for the next romance which will turn into the real thing. Many circumstances will leave you laughing your heart off, some will leave you so disgusted... you may choose to turn off the TV, but if you see it to the end, for the most part, this movie is rather funny. When the movie was over, we started to laugh at the fact that we had just endured a rather new experience... so... at your own peril... give it a try! More Reviews
