Summary: Cartoon marathon vol.1
Comment: The prints of all the 32 cartoons of this compilation are watchable but fair. Some of them are excellent cartoons ( Daffy and the dinosaur; A date to skate ( starring Popeye and produced by Fleischers studios ); Pantry Panic ( starring Woody Woodpecker ); Humpty Dumpty ( by Ub Iwerks ) but you can find them in other collections with pretty better image's quality.

The cartoons in the first volume of this collection are :

Old MacDonald ( 1938 )
Old mother Hubbard ( 1935 ); by Ub Iwerks
Humpty Dumpty ( 1935 ); from Iwerks independent studio
The three bears ( 1935 ); by Iwerks
Big bad wolf ( 1945 )
Kids in the shoe ( 1939 ); directed by David Fleischer

The friendly ghost ( 1945 ); introducing Casper
Talking Magpies ( 1946 ); produced by Paul Terry
Wolf! Wolf! ( 1944 ); starring Mighty Mouse
The cheese burglar ( 1946 ); from Famous studio
I wanna be a sailor ( 1935 ) ; supervised by Fred ( Tex ) Avery

Comment: I would recommend Timeless Cartoons (asin number B0006I686G). Looneytunes Golden Collection or Classic cartoons.

Summary: Not bad, but don't expect much... ;-P
Comment: I purchased Cartoon Marathon, Vol. 1 & 2 from a discount bin, and was pleased to see a number of cartoons I have not seen since I was young. However, the quality isn't all that great (probably because they have not gone through a "remastering" process). Also, I found that the block of Popeye cartoons on Volume 1 is identical to the Popeye block of cartoons on Volume 2, though differnet cartoons are listed on the sleeve.
Again, if you don't have to spend more than a couple of bucks for them, they're worth having, if for nothing else the simple nostalgia.

Summary: DONT BUY THIS..........
Comment: Do not buy this DVD. I was so disappointed when I tried to watch it. The quality was terrible. The colors are dark and all messed up. I've seen these same cartoons on Cartoon Network before and they were perfet. I don't know why anyone would put these cartoons on here in this awful condition. Don't buy this, you will be very very disappointed. I wanted to just throw the DVD away. It looks bootleg. The cartoon titles are often cut off at the top and bottom of the screen. It looks just like somebody was videotaping these with a camcorder while thery were playing on a screen in front of them. It's all shaky. DON'T BUY THIS!!!!!!!!! (However volume 2 is good)
