Summary: Weight training for golf NOT
Comment: Save your money. The title should merely be "Weight Training". It has no relationship to golf. In fact golf is only mentioned briefly in the preface, kind of an afterthought, something to the effect that we should be stronger to play. Duh. This is merely a book showing every type of weight training exercise including those not generally agreed to be beneficial to golfers (bench press specifically). Ditto the "over 40" part. This book is for any age desiring weight training, but most folks over 40 will find some of the exercisies daunting. Spend your time with the Titleist Performance Institute. Their program is specific to golf training. This book is a ripoff.

Summary: Just what I wanted
Comment: I was looking for a book that actually had workout routines to specifically target areas that would increase my golf game and this one had it. It also has pre-season and off-season workouts which are a plus. It is a very detailed book. Great book!

Summary: Great book to keep your workout goal oriented and interesting
Comment: This book is great! I have always had a problem falling into a workout rut, and this book has designed a fun golf workout that changes every two weeks. I would recommend this book or any book in this series to someone who is training for a specific sport. The book is simple to read and you can download blank workout sheets from their website so you can track your progress. The book also has pictures explaining each exercise that is well organized by muscle group. Golf season has not started yet but I am looking forward to getting out there and crushing some great shots.

Summary: New Edition is Way Better
Comment: I'm a multi sport athlete who trains all year round regardless of what sport I play. I bought a few of these Ultimate Guide to Weight Training books, and they definitely helped me train specifically for the different sports that I play. Then about a year later I received an email from amazon that there was a new edition out. These upgraded editions are even better than the originals, with more articles and a lot more sport-specific information. I would definitely recommend this series to anyone who plays a lot of sports or wants to specifically focus on training for one sport in particular.
