Summary: There is a problem here..
Comment: Alright, I will admit that I am more liberal minded and I haven't read the book. However, I see a huge problem with this leftist liberal and right wing conservatism. We are fighting against each other in a country that is supposed to be founded on unity! Isn't it true that we all really want the same thing? Don't we all want happiness, a comfortable life, advances in technology and science, world peace, healthy food, fair wages, clean air?? Creating more war is not going to provide any solutions. As far as issues of same sex marriage and abortion, why does anyone care?! Sure, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but these are very personal choices, and I think they should remain very personal choices. What ever happened to separation between church and state?? Religion is a very convoluted institution. And I for one completely believe in God and am very inclined toward spirituality, but killing in the name of God is wrong! What would Jesus think about that? I think he would've thought that the institutions of religion have devastated this planet. This was not his intention. He advocated Truth. This is what we need to follow. And I'm not talking about reading and educating yourself, although that helps, but I'm talking about the feeling of truth. When truth comes from an inner place of silence and you know what's right and real. If you want to manifest good in your life, follow your truth. There are too many people out there who vary in opinion. Let it be. Whatever happened to "Thou shall not judge"?

And yes, I will read the book and leave an educated review and rating.. And for all of you die hard conservatives, I highly recommend Zeitgeist the movie, and even better and more along my lines of thinking: zeitgeist:adendum, which can be downloaded, and also: waste=food, also easily downloadable..

Summary: How many people here read the book?
Comment: Excellent book by Dr. Savage. How many reviewers here actually read it? It doesn't seem like very many. This is a very well researched book, and Savage backs almost all of his points up with an abundance of evidence. Savage likens liberalism to a mental disorder because it is, as a position, entirely unencumbered by logic and reason. It is, rather, based solely on "emotional thinking" (an oxymoron) and compaaaaaasion. Well, as Sowell often points out, such a focus on the "good intentions" behind a program sans any care regarding the program's actual real-world consequences is INSANE. Welfare quadrupled the poverty rate in America. Not caring is insane. What you subsidize you get more of. What you reward, you get more of.

I really loved many of the topics covered in this book. Savage rips the lid off of many scandals in this one, scandals that both sides of the political spectrum should care deeply about. In fact, Savage is every bit as critical about the Bush administration as he is about liberals. (Bush is, after all, a fiscal socialist.) Savage exposes the trial lawyer racket that drives up the cost of medicine, cars, even food. In 2001, tort lawyers as an industry (they have their own venture capitalists, after all) made 50% more revenue than Microsoft. He also makes some very good points about how the illegal alien Mexican invasion of America is costing us billions of dollars. Did you know that if we bought EVERY single illegal alien a plane ticket back to their home country it would cost less than what we taxpayers spend in Medicare ON THEM in ONE YEAR?

Other tidbits include the following: Did you know that under Clinton our tax dollars helped to pay for a Palestinian TV program that taught children about the glories of being a suicide bomber? Readers of this book probably already know that Clinton is a thug and a gangster; the crimes that members of the Clinton machine have been convicted of include drug trafficking and money laundering. Arafat winning a Nobel Prize? Yes, Savage has PLENTY to say about that one. Arafat personally ordered the execution of 10,000 Christians. Israeli soldiers found Palestinian hospitals where the walls were lined with the blood-drained bodies of Christians stacked like cords of wood along the corridors. Did the American media cover any of this? OF COURSE NOT!!!

I was EXTREMELY grateful to Savage that finally a popular book exposes Kinsey for the monster that he was. That his work is still taken seriously is an atrocity. That they recently made a movie about him that depicts him in a positive light is an atrocity. That Liam Neeson agreed to play him is embarrassing. Kinsey was a pedophile. Two of his friends--both of whom regularly sent him "data"--were convicted of child molestation, one for molesting 200 children and one for molesting 800. Kinsey had a friend of his masturbating INFANTS to see how many times a day they'd climax. Kinsey should have been given life in prison, end of story. Kinsey was also a fraud. The great statistician John Tukey demonstrated that Kinsey actually made a lot of his data up. Usually when a researcher does this they are exposed and their career is over, so why do people still take Kinsey's sick work seriously?

Summary: Savage indeed.
Comment: The blueprint on mental disorders where the "savage solution" was the final solution carried to its conclusion by Jim Adkisson in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Editorial Reviews:

Liberalism Is a Mental Disorder-

Michael Savage has the cure.

With grit, guts, and gusto, talk radio sensation Michael Savage leaves no political turn unstoned as he savages today's most rabid liberalism. In this paperback edition of his third New York Times bestseller, Savage strikes at the root of today's most pressing issues, including:

Homeland security: "We need more Patton and less patent leather . . . Real homeland security begins when we arrest, interrogate, jail, or deport known operatives within our own borders . . . One dirty bomb can ruin your whole day."

Illegal immigration: "I envision an Oil for Illegals program . . . The president should demand one barrel of oil from Mexico for every illegal that sneaks into our country."

Lawsuit abuse: "Lawyers are like red wine. Everything in moderation. Today we have far too many lawyers, and we're suffering from cirrhosis of the economy."

"Pure Savage. Very effective, very timely, very hot."
