Summary: My "go to" book
Comment: Mel Allwood's book is my first point of reference whenever I work on my bike. The book is blissfully concise, and often I can get the gist of what I need to do just by reading the picture captions. Very typically, I will open the book to the task I want to perform, skim the photos and captions, and then I'll put the book down and get right into working on my bike. And isn't working on the bike what it's all about?

Mel's book doesn't cover everything. For example, it doesn't get into pressing our own headset. So if you're inclined to perform those more technical and specialized tasks at home, you'll need other books to supplement Allwood's. I have several such books in my library.

Despite having several books on bike maintenance, Allwood's remains the first one that I turn to. After all, I want to work on my bike, not read about working on it. Allwood helps me get on with the work, and that's what I like about her book.

Summary: A good tool for real MTB lovers!
Comment: When you explore very deeply the performance of your MTB "machine" is really convenient to have some technical maintenance knowledge in order to overcome some "unexpected situations" and to be able to return home tired and happy.
This book help us a lot by giving us a very clear knowledge about the MTB mechanical issues and becoming possible to go to the mountain without any kind of "anxieties"...

Summary: This really is a great book!
Comment: This is the best book I own and I own a few including DVD's. This is the book you want if you need a bike repair reference book. The only downside is the print is real small so make sure you have your reading glasses or young eyes.

Summary: Great Book
Comment: I used this book for my bike. Its very useful and gives alot of tips and how toos. Would recommend this to common sense people though. If you can hold a tool right forget it. Save your money and go buy yourself a Britney Spears audio cd.
