Every minute over 30 people in the world suffer a stroke. Four out of ten people with stroke are younger than 65 years. Approximately two thirds of stroke survivors remain disabled and dependent on others in their everyday activities. The availability of training, educational and rehabilitation tools for stroke survivors and their families has been very limited.
A new series of videos in DVD format is now available. For the first time learning and instruction on stroke caring and rehabilitation is available in visual form that makes it easier for stroke survivors and their family caregivers. Developed by stroke authorities, learning from the DVDs requires no medical or special medical training.
The three DVDs show exactly how to manage the everyday needs of stroke survivors and provides practical demonstrations or exercises and other techniques to improve the quality of life of stroke survivors and their family caregivers.
Developed and created in New Zealand by Valery Feigin, M.D., the DVDs have a total duration of six hours with easy-to-navigate topic and chapter selection options. They cover virtually all aspects of stroke from understanding what stroke is and how to avoid it, to the consequences of stroke.
DVD#1 provides information from Dr. Feigin and other experts that help understand brain functions and how strokes affect the brain and behavior.
DVD#2 provides medically accurate and easy- to-follow, step-by-step educational and training information for stroke survivors and their families detailing how to care for a stroke person and carry out rehabilitation exercises correctly.
